- After Indiana Fever practice on Tuesday, guard Lexie Hull and head coach Christie Sides answered questions from media.
Hull, along with Katie Lou Samuelson, have been productive off the bench in recent games. Hull even finished a game last week. She knows her roll and the intangibles that she's asked to provide.
Sides, in a Aliyah Boston t-shirt, gave a non-update update on Temi Fagbenle, touched on Hull, team chemistry and more.

What I love of Lexie is when the ball is floating all over the place. She knows to get the ball back to CC to reset the offense. 🧠

Lexie provides so much positive energy to the team. She's so supportive of her teammates, cheering every good play, while on the bench. That energy is contagious, and it makes a difference when she is on the floor.

Yes! Lexie is the lightning rod coming off the bench that this team needs defensively. It can’t be easy seeing someone like CC come into the league you’ve been apart of for a bit and get all these questions about HER game and not yours. These Fever players are handling it so well.
She's a tremendous asset to the team.
Coach wearing the AB shirt is not showing favoritism. Have you ever coached or taught a player/student that had all the talent and potential in the world, but they struggled with confidence? That’s what Coach Sides is doing. AB is struggling with her confidence. She’s trying to gas her up and show support because Coach knows that if AB can get going, the rest of the team will continue to follow suit. It’s not favoritism, it’s showing support for a key player that has been struggling.
Hope coach gives her more playing time. Her defensive play is especially needed!
Its unprofessional for a coach to wear a shirt of one of her players. And yes, that even means CC's. At least at practice or a game. Sides is such a weird coach.
she's par for the course for the WNBA. All of the female coaches are lesbians and play favourites based on your sexual orientation. This has been a thing since the 90s.

I mean it's an Indiana fever shirt probably given to her by the team or Boston herself. It's fever merch it's not weird to wear team merch. She probably has a good relationship with her players. I swear yall CC fans have a problem with everyone on this team, like yall don't understand respectable and close relationships.
Sometimes the coach shouldn't be talking to the press about private conversations with players. Lexi is doing fine, the public doesn't need to know about the coaching critiques.

The Mystics have grown a lot over the past couple games too -- so hope they are studying that film! .... However, I think I heard another injured player issue occurred just as they were getting wind under their sails too.
So, wonder what the deal was in regards to the 15-minute talk with CC? Coach seemed a little uncomfortable and kept changing what it was about, first basketball talk then life talk then catching up. Could be nothing but with this coach one never knows.

What a way for a coach to divide the team with her AB T-shirt. It is obvious that she has been favored all along, even when Boston was out of shape. Ok, Boston encouraged coach in early season but does coach not realize she is driving a wedge among a team that seems to be trying to be more unified? This hit me more than anything!! Lexie Hull on the upward move and I know Caitlin will look her way when open giving her great opportunity shots. I just love Katie’s 3’s she has been putting up as well. The offense can never ,successfully game after game with different teams ,only work toward getting the ball to AB. She has done really well thus far but I can also see such balanced talent emerging. As soon as Mitchell stops drooling for stats and instead becomes more of a team player with healthy assists then truly will her game bring to her the positive attention it needs. There is no time for mind games, esp. from the coach and instead as they work toward a great cohesive unit like the last game they will each contribute greatly. I KNOW TOO WHEN FAGBENIE COMES BACK ON THE court she will be hungry to use her excellent court awareness and placement to be an added force.

@@ROBERTSOMA-pb3sp Well, unlike you and all the homers. I've actually played sports and understand the process. The only process you understand is watching a video and then commenting on it. The hardest thing you have done in your life amounts to nothing for you to compare how team sports work and how hard it is to get a team to improve in such a short time.
If I were Sides I would do three things. First I would have intensive, live practices with Men's teams (that's how Catlin got good). Second, work on setting proper screens. Third, have Catlin take more shots during a gsme in a run offense. 11 definately cannot get in the flow. Need 20-25 per game. From there work on some other areas.

Lexie Hull is a National Champion (Stanford) she knows how to dig deep and what it takes to win the big game. The Fever need to play her more, she can't come cold off the bench all the time.

I feel Lexi needs to be higher in the rotation. I would rather her play aggressive on defense than sit in a drop zone... Such a long athletic frame, what a waste on the bench.
I wish everybody gave the effort on defense that Lexie does.

COACH BLUDER IS COMING! The Fever will never be a winning team under Sides who prefers basketball played like the 90's. Penetrate & Low posts. That's why it is so easy for teams like the Aces,Liberty to get big leads because they play Five-Out modern basketball WITH EMPHASIS ON THE THREE-POINT SHOT! ANd if you know basic MAth, 3's are larger than 2 !!!
You don't play five out with a player that led the league in field goal percentage as a low post force and won ROY.
The biggest mistake was not getting Boston lots of low post touches at the seasons start.
The team has played better since the emphasis on feeding the post.
